Blue berries are literally my favorite fruit ever and the health benefits are amazing with uniquely high level of antioxidants. The Centre for Disease Control calls them a Powerhouse Fruit; the Mayo Clinic calls them a Superfood – I just call them delicious. Blueberries also contain high amounts of vitamins and minerals and can be incorporated into your diet in a multitude of ways! They can play a big role in preventing heart disease and regulating blood sugar levels, and best of all, they taste delicious.

Not just a versatile treat, blueberries also have many health benefits, see blow just a few:

  • They are also 85% water
  • Filled with antioxidants, which help prevent diseases
  • Helps the cholesterol in your blood from damaging
  • Maintains brain function and retention of memory
  • Fights urinary tract infections
  • Helps damage muscle damage after strenuous work outs
  • Very low in calories
  • Can increase the rate of muscle strength recovery and muscle repair

Blueberries can be consumed fresh or frozen, without losing any of the health benefits, vitamins, and minerals. (Personally, I am a fan of frozen especially on a hot summer day)

Enjoy blackberries and their benefits in a smoothie, a yogurt parfait, or atop a green salad.
