Intermittent Fasting – How does it work?

Intermittent Fasting is something that I plan into my Detox Plans and there are many reasons why I do that – which I will get into over the next few weeks.  Most would believe only for the weight loss because for those who have done my 10 Day Detox Plan with Intermittent Fasting the results have spoken for themselves.

Human studies of intermittent fasting have found that it improved disease such as insulin resistance, blood fat abnormalities, high blood pressure and inflammation, even independently of weight loss!

Interesting fact – It takes 10 to 12 hours to use up the calories in the liver before a metabolic shift occurs to using stored fat. After meals, glucose is used for energy and fat is stored in fat tissue, but during fasts, once glucose is depleted, fat is broken down and used for energy.  That is why I love Intermittent Fasting!!!

What is 16/8 Intermittent Fasting and how to get started?

16/8 Intermittent Fasting involves eating only during an eight-hour window and fasting for the remaining 16 hours. 16/8 Intermittent Fasting is easy to follow and can provide real results with minimal effort. It’s generally considered less restrictive and more flexible than many other diet plans and can easily fit into just about any lifestyle. It may support weight loss, improve blood sugar, boost brain function and increase longevity

This method is what I implement into my clients eating plans and one of the most popular styles of fasting. Not only are the weight reduction results great but most clients embark on this method after their detox which assists them with post detox maintenance. This method is also simple, safe and sustainable.

To get started, begin by picking an eight-hour window period and limit your food intake to that time span. Some people prefer to eat between 12pm and 8pm as this means you’ll only need to fast overnight and skip breakfast but can still eat a balanced lunch and dinner, along with a few snacks throughout the day. This method is my personal favorite however, you can experiment and pick the time frame that best fits your schedule.

Why would Intermittent Fasting work for us and what are the benefit?

We ask ourselves why would changing the timing of our meals allowing for fasting make a difference in our body. The answer is simple, it is evolutionarily embedded within our physiology, triggering several essential cellular functions. Flipping the switch from a fed to fasting state does more than help us burn calories and lose weight. Through dozens of animal and human studies explaining how simple fasting improves metabolism, lowering blood sugar, lessens inflammation, which improves a range of health issues from arthritic pain to asthma; and even helps clear out toxins and damaged cells, which lowers risk for cancer and enhances brain function.

Is intermittent fasting as good as it sounds?

There is some good scientific evidence suggesting that intermittent Fasting when combined with a healthy diet and lifestyle, can be a particularly effective approach to weight loss, especially for people at risk for diabetes. (However, people with advanced diabetes or who are on medications for diabetes, people with a history of eating disorders like anorexia and bulimia, and pregnant or breastfeeding women should not attempt Intermittent Fasting unless under the close supervision of a physician who can monitor them.)

How does Natural Attitude incorporate Intermittent Fasting?

To be honest Intermittent Fasting is one of the top reasons why I am achieving amazing results with clients. The 10 Day Detox kicks off with a soup and juice fast which eliminates the toxic build up, then implementing a ketogenic eating plan alongside Intermittent Fasting all the way through. This powerful combination is a force to be reckoned with!

The results speak for themselves and not only are clients feeling amazing having reduced their weight. The feeling of wellbeing is what really has everyone talking and coming back for more! An exciting fact is that they are maintaining the weight reduction through Intermittant Fasting. This is proof alone that this lifestyle is credible if followed responsibly and will work.
